Trench MOSFET

Futurewafer's Trench MOSFETs are a type of power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) that has been optimized for high-power applications.

Basic Structure:
>> Trench MOSFETs are based on the traditional planar MOSFET structure but with optimizations.
>> They feature deep trenches that extend into the silicon substrate, allowing for more parallel cells and reducing on-resistance (Ron).
By lowering Ron, trench MOSFETs achieve greater current conduction and wider switching speeds.
Advantages of Trench MOSFETs:
>> Low gate drive power requirement.
>> Fast switching speed, especially at low voltages.
>> Easy parallelization due to simple implementation.
>> Wide bandwidth, robustness, and ease of use.
>> Commonly used in low-voltage applications (below 200-V) such as power supplies, DC-DC converters, and motor controllers.
Applications:
>> Power MOSFETs find widespread use in consumer electronics, transportation, and automotive electronics.
>> They are commonly used in power supplies, motor control, audio amplifiers, and RF applications.
